Founded in 1982 as an Anabaptist option
among the Christian schools serving the Lebanon Valley and surrounding
areas, New Covenant
Christian School has grown into the present-day school housed in the
former Ebenezer Elementary School building situated along Route 72,
approximately one mile north of the city of Lebanon. The physical
plant includes traditional classrooms, library, gymnasium, cafeteria,
stage, music and art rooms, offices and athletic fields.
New
Covenant is a private, association-run Christian school that serves
nearly 200 students from pre-school through twelfth grade. Originally
formed as a school serving kindergarten through eighth grade students,
the school embarked upon the addition of a high school during the
1998-99 school year. The school graduated its first high school class
in June 2002.
Staffed by nurturing, dedicated teachers, NCCS has a
faculty-to-student ratio of one-to-twelve in the middle school / high school and
one-to-twelve in the elementary school. Students are taught in
traditional classroom settings, but in the high school, opportunities
are available for computer assisted instruction, independent study,
community service, short-term missions work, work-release,
vocational-technical education, early-college enrollment. The school
offers growing programs in ministry team (music and drama), music, art and sports.
New
Covenant Christian School holds membership in the following
organizations: Mennonite Secondary Education Council, Association of
Christian Schools International and Lancaster Area Council of
Mennonite Schools. The school also belongs to the Mid-Atlantic
Christian School Association.
